As she has relied on the leading of God’s spirit throughout her life’s trials and journey, she has learned to keep {Ps. 61:1, “Hear my cry oh Lord attend unto my prayers, when my heart is overwhelmed lead me to the rock which is higher than I.”} very close to her heart.

Charlene Anderson, Chaiperson

Sister Charlene Anderson joined The Sanctuary at Kingdom Square in Upper Marlboro Maryland over 23 years ago. Under the leadership of Bishop Maclin and based on his teaching and preaching of the Word, her relationship with God continues to grow. Sister Charlene serves faithfully in the Kingdom of God.

Sister Charlene recognized early in life that she has a naturally ability to motivate and encourage people. It wasn’t until she learned to commune with God that she came to understand that it is He who blessed her with the gift of encouragement. Sister Charlene pours into the lives of others whenever opportunity presents itself. She is intentional about using her gift to uplift people wherever she goes, and she knows that loving the people of God pleases Him. Sister Charlene’s foundational scriptures are found in Matthew 22:37-39, “Love the Lord thy God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Sister Charlene has a passion for writing, and at any given service she can be seen taking copious notes. She honed her skill as a writer when she assumed the role of Editor-in-Chief of The Sanctuary Magazine – “Kingdom Living.” For four years, Sister Charlene lead the Magazine Ministry, and encouraged her team of writers and editors to be the best that they could be. She and her team took great pride in presenting a magazine with articles that provided comfort, inspiration, joy, and hope.

Sister Charlene is currently the President of the Missions Ministry. She recognizes that a spotlight has always been on food insecurity and homelessness, and that spotlight is brighter because of Covid. Sister Charlene’s passion for serving the people of God is evident in the work she does. She works tirelessly, with the help of her Team, Bishop Maclin, and other organizations in the surrounding communities. Sister Charlene’s primary objective is to ensure that the food distribution program at The Sanctuary operates efficiently in its efforts to provide sustainable food, and that the needs of the homeless community are met.

Sister Charlene is an avid runner, and has participated in over 40 organized runs, including 7 marathons. Minister Janice, a kingdom ambassador for change, is on a quest to be a walking and talking billboard of love to those that she encounters daily.  She is not a stranger to the struggles that people endure in life because she knows that it is part of a refining and stretching process to fulfill our purpose and destiny. While keeping this in mind, Minister Janice continues to embark on a journey to empower people to become unstuck and find healing so that they can effectively utilize their gifts to advance the kingdom of God. In 2017, the Lord revealed to Janice that she should host a Prayer and Worship Conference, “Be Made Whole:  Standing Boldly For A Renewed You to make a greater impact in the community. The conference is now held annually based on the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

As a result of this burning desire to make a difference, she served in an educational capacity with a diverse student population for over 20 years, and then went on to pursue a Master’s in Social Work at Fordham University-Lincoln Center in NYC.

Minister Janice enjoys dancing, networking, choreographing, coaching, mentoring, and teaching God’s word. She has produced several plays that incorporate dance, drama, and singing.  Minister Janice’s passion is to connect with other dance ministries and artists to restore the worship back into the church and community. As a result of this passion, her heart for the Father grew deeply. Minister Janice established a fervent prayer life, dedicated time to hear from the Lord, and delivered the Word of God at various women’s ministry events.

In this season, God is using Minister Janice to help scale and launch churches and ministries.  She believes when people are aligned with the Word of God and understand God’s purpose and design for their lives, they will make a greater impact in their communities and even the Nations.

Minister Janice enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband of 21 years and her gifted daughter. She loves to travel, read a good book, attend cultural plays, and supports her daughter’s cheerleading and gymnastics competitions.
